President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed that there is no fixed schedule for putting the Stephen Oronsaye Report into action.

The Report proposes streamlining government agencies to reduce operational costs by eliminating or consolidating certain bodies.
Recall that in February, the President instructed that the Oronsaye report be fully executed to boost productivity in the federal service and minimise governance expenses. A 10-member committee was announced in March for the implementation of the Oronsaye Report.
Gbajabiamila explained that the complexity of the process requires careful planning, adding that a committee has been established to review the report and finalise the details.
Despite the plan to cut the cost of governance, Tinubu has hinted at the possibility of creating a ministry of livestock development.
Speaking with reporters in Abuja on Tuesday after visiting the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) headquarters, Gbajabiamila said the implementation of the report “is not as easy as it sounds”.
“Yes, we have been talking about this for months now, but anything worth doing is worth doing properly. It is not as easy as it sounds. A committee has been set and I’m sure very soon a full and final report will be out and implementation will begin.
“I can’t give you an exact timeline. We don’t want to sacrifice thoroughness on the altar of anxiety. It will be done soon”, the Chief of Staff said.
